Evening Classes

• Autumn 2011 - Registration

Registration for Irish langauge classes for adults will take place at St. Kentigern’s Social Club, Fallowfield on Tuesday 6th September at 8pm. The registration will consist of a short assessment, by one of the teachers, to guage the students level and find the appropriate class.

• 2011-2012 Classes

All our classes are based on the European Language framework, Teastas Eorpach Gaeilge (see www.teg.ie for more information).

We intend to provide the following classes, but this as always is subject to numbers:

Absolute beginners: For those who are new to the language. This course will be conducted fully in Irish and will follow A1 level of the Teastas Eorpach Gaeilge

Continuing Beginners: For beginners who have previous knowledge of the language. This will be taught in mix of English/Irish.

Intermediate: Corresponding to level B1 of TEG. This will be taught in the greatest part in Irish.

• After class activities

Each week, after the classes we run an additional activity. This ranges from covering specific topics like names of trees or birds in Irish, to learning songs. These activities run from 9.15 to 10pm.

• Costs

There is no fee for attending classes, but we do ask that learners make a commitment to supporting the Irish Language community in Manchester.
